Programme Development Manager, Syria The starting salary package for this position is £54,544 GBP / approx. $73,000 USD including all allowances. This is an unaccompanied post. About MAG: MAG (Mines Advisory Group) is an international humanitarian organisation based in Manchester, UK, and working in 32 countries. We remove landmines and unexploded ordnance to release safe and productive land for communities, and work to reduce the threat of armed violence by supporting governments to safely manage weapons and ammunition. In 1997, MAG was a co-recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize for our work campaigning for the Anti-Personnel Mine Ban Convention. About the role: Reporting to the Country Director, the Programme Development Manager plays a leading role in developing our evidence-based programme strategy, quality management, and impact. You will ensure that our work in Syria is needs-driven and results-based as well as remaining closely monitored and funded in timely and appropriate ways. You will work in close collaboration with our programme team in Syria, the regional management unit, and MAG’s global support teams, to develop and adapt our forward-looking operational and funding development strategy. You will act as a key representative of MAG’s Syria programme to ensure that MAG is recognised for its leadership and coordination in humanitarian mine action to donors, peer organisations, partners, humanitarian fora, and coordination bodies. You will foster crosscutting initiatives to enhance diversity, integrity, inclusiveness, and accountability within our programme teams, and will ultimately take responsibility for programme development and implementation. This is a challenging and varied role which offers the opportunity to effect meaningful change and grow our lifesaving work in Syria.
