Are you a young womxn between ages 20-29 based in Gauteng? Look no further than applying to be a Girleada volunteer! We have just opened our 2023 volunteer applications and would love for you to join the team. Girleada is a leadership development and training non-governmental organisation that provides adolescent girls and young womxn with leadership training. Various entities provide leadership training. However, many are expensive and thus inaccessible. Our pilot program, the Lead(her)ship Program, graduated its first cohort of 54 future leaders in August 2021. We work remotely across Southern Africa. Our flagship lead(her)ship development program will kick off in 2023. We are recruiting volunteers with exceptional youth leadership experience looking to learn, acquire professional and transferable skills and gain access to a network of aspiring leaders. Our virtual leadership development curriculum is based on the pillars mentioned above, namely: (1) Project Me; (2) Mental Pilot; (3) Communication Join us as we deliver this impactful peer-to-peer program to adolescent girls and young womxn across Southern Africa. Learn more about the organisation at: www.girleada.org Kindly note that this is an unpaid volunteer position Closing date: Ongoing Application reviews and interviews will be done on a rolling basis The role will require the following: • Strong project management skills • Clarity on the value proposition of the experience (e.g. looking to expand the portfolio of evidence/portfolio) • Aligned with our objectives, missions, value, etc • Ability to run an independent project or spearhead an existing one • Video conference platform abilities (refresher training to be provided) • Available on Saturday mornings for 4 months (Q1 & Q2) • Report writing skills • Comfort with scheduling and automation of Comms (email marketing, etc.) The role is 70% remote (virtual/WFH) Experience/Qualification: • 1+ year project management experience for a startup civil society organisation/department/incubator/large-scale project • 2+ years Program management experience preferable • Relevant postgraduate qualification preferable Skills: • Self-starter that can own a project end-to-end • Report writing skills • Presentation skills (creation and communication) • Strong video conferencing hosting abilities (Zoom, Google Meet, etc) Attributes: • Reliability • Agility • Creativity • Humility • Empathy
