Description
Hartley People Recruitment is partnering with a well-established and growing business in the agricultural and engineering sector to recruit a Production Manager for their manufacturing facility in Carlow.
Reporting to senior management, the successful candidate will take responsibility for leading day-to-day production operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, safety, and delivery targets are consistently achieved. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong operational management skills and the ability to drive continuous improvement across the production function.
Key responsibilities include:
• Managing all aspects of production operations to ensure output targets, quality standards, and customer requirements are met.
• Leading, motivating, and developing production teams to achieve high levels of performance and engagement.
• Planning and coordinating labour, materials, and resources to maximise productivity and efficiency.
• Monitoring production schedules and ensuring on-time delivery of finished products.
• Driving continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing processes.
• Ensuring compliance with health & safety, quality, and environmental standards.
• Working closely with engineering, maintenance, procurement, and management teams to support operational objectives.
• Analysing production performance and implementing corrective actions where required.
• Managing costs, waste reduction, and operational efficiencies across the facility.
The Person
The ideal candidate will have:
• Previous experience in a Production Manager, Operations Manager, Manufacturing Manager, or similar leadership role.
• A background in engineering, agricultural engineering, manufacturing, or a related technical discipline.
• Strong people management experience with the ability to lead and develop teams.
• Proven experience managing production planning, operational performance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Excellent problem-solving, organisational, and communication skills.
• A hands-on approach with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of health & safety and quality management systems.
• Experience within agricultural, engineering, fabrication, machinery, or industrial manufacturing environments would be highly advantageous.
