Description
We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established fashion apparel business for a Production Co-ordinator to join their growing womenswear team. Our client is a long-standing, distributor of fashion apparel, supplying leading high street retailers and global e-commerce brands. Based in Manchester you would be supporting the day-to-day running of the department. Previous knitwear experience is desirable but not essential, as full product training will be provided. Main Responsibilities Will Include: • Supporting the management of the critical path from purchase order through to shipment • Liaising daily with Far East suppliers to monitor production and delivery schedules • Raising purchase orders and maintaining accurate system information • Chasing production samples, lab dips and approvals to ensure deadlines are met • Monitoring delivery dates and flagging potential delays to the Senior Merchandiser • Approving packing lists, checking barcodes and assisting with shipping approvals • Managing incoming samples, ensuring they are labelled, tracked and distributed efficiently • Assisting with sales analysis, repeat buys and markdown recommendations • Preparing samples for customer meetings and photoshoots, and maintaining showroom samples and product trackers • Working closely with Buying, Design and QC teams to ensure smooth progress through the supply chain Person Specification: • Ideally previous experience in a production merchandising assistant role within fashion • Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail • Confident communicator, able to build relationships with suppliers and internal teams • Strong commercial awareness and a genuine interest in fashion • Good Excel and computer skills • Able to prioritise workload and thrive in a fast-paced environment • Positive, proactive and keen to develop a career in merchandising
