Responsibilities
• Own and guide lifecycle management for assigned sourced products, translating customer, market, technical, supplier, and commercial inputs into product strategy, roadmap priorities, portfolio actions, and lifecycle recommendations.
• Identify global portfolio gaps, with focus on priority regions, and develop sourcing or product development pathways that improve customer value, market fit, regional competitiveness, and profitable growth.
• Develop and execute supplier-enabled product strategy by scouting, evaluating, qualifying, and managing suppliers and product opportunities against Eastman standards for quality, cost, lead time, capacity, compliance, commercial viability, and strategic fit.
• Lead supplier relationship and performance management in partnership with Procurement, AMS, Commercial, Technology, Supply Chain, Quality, Finance, Legal, and regional teams to align agreements, service expectations, risk management, and margin objectives with product strategy.
• Lead stage-gate governance for supplier-enabled product introductions, product changes, and lifecycle initiatives, ensuring clear business cases, customer requirements, technical validation, supply readiness, pricing assumptions, launch plans, risk mitigation, success metrics, and accountable owners.
• Provide pricing, margin, and portfolio optimization guidance by evaluating market price levels, cost-to-serve, competitive positioning, value-based pricing opportunities, volume assumptions, cost models, supply risk, and financial impact.
• Monitor supplier, product, and portfolio performance and recommend actions to resolve issues, mitigate risk, improve profitability, simplify the portfolio, reduce stock-out and EEOA risk, and accelerate growth.
• Gather and synthesize voice-of-customer, regional, supplier, market, and competitive insights to inform product strategy, sourcing decisions, pricing, positioning, and portfolio actions.
• Own the third-party sourcing management process for assigned products and drive continuous improvement in supplier evaluation, governance documentation, product performance tracking, and lifecycle management practices.
• Influence global and regional stakeholders without direct authority by communicating recommendations, risks, trade-offs, decisions, and project status clearly to cross-functional partners and leadership.
• Champion Eastman’s safety, health, environmental, and security standards and ensure regulatory, trade, quality, and business conduct compliance for sourced products, suppliers, and related decisions.
Qualifications
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, supply chain, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Significant experience in product management, sourcing, supplier management, procurement, manufacturing, quality, or related technical/commercial roles.
• Experience leading product lifecycle, portfolio, supplier, or new product introduction initiatives in a cross-functional environment.
• Strong business, financial, and technical acumen, including the ability to evaluate pricing, margins, business cases, supplier capability, quality, and strategic fit.
• Ability to translate customer, market, competitive, and regional insights into product and portfolio actions.
• Proven ability to work independently, manage ambiguity, and influence cross-functional stakeholders without direct authority.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present recommendations, risks, trade-offs, and decisions clearly to stakeholders and leadership.
Preferred:
• MBA or equivalent business/commercial experience.
• Experience in films or related industries.
• Experience with supplier negotiations, quality systems, and structured problem-solving tools.
