Description
We’re a fast-growing Special Projects team at Entrix working independently on a new platform . We’re building a product that connects to distributed energy systems and enables real-time asset management and market participation. We ship quickly, operate what we build, and care deeply about engineering fundamentals: scalability, security, observability, and maintainability.
• Location: Munich, Germany
• Working Mode: Office-first setup
• Type: Full-time, permanent
• Salary: €90,000 – €120,000 (depending on experience and leveling)
• Language: English (C1+)
In this role you will:
• Build and maintain a scalable, secure, high-performance product, owning features end-to-end: data modeling → APIs → UI → testing → production rollout.
• Drive engineering excellence with strong code quality, reviews, and pragmatic architecture decisions.
• Implement robust system observability to track performance and key operational metrics.
• Improve developer experience so the team can ship high-quality features faster (tooling, patterns, docs, tests).
• Collaborate cross-functionally across the Entrix ecosystem to shape the platform direction.
What great looks like in this role:
• You ship meaningful product increments at a high velocity without process overheads.
• You leave parts of the system cleaner than you found them (tests, interfaces, docs).
• You make trade-offs explicit: latency vs. cost, speed vs. safety, developer experience vs. complexity.
• Y ou build systems that are extremely reliable and maintain consistent performance.
• You’re highly customer focused and actively seek opportunities to generate value for our customers.
You will be a great fit if...
• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong Python (FastAPI) and strong TypeScript/React (Next.js) proficiency.
• Hands-on experience deploying and operating production systems on AWS (ECS, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, S3, IAM) using Infrastructure-as-code (AWS CDK / Terraform / Pulumi).
• Strong API design sense (REST, OpenAPI), and comfort with CI/CD + Docker.
• Ownership mindset: you drive from “idea” to “shipped” and care about what happens after deploy.
• Great communication skills to effectively bring across complex ideas and concepts with an ability to work on solutions individually.
Nice-to-haves:
• Experience deploying AI-driven automations to speed up shipping.
• Experience with real-time systems (streaming using AWS Kinesis/Kafka) built on top of time-series data (InfluxDB/TimescaleDB).
• Interest in systems that touch real-world hardware.
At Entrix, we are committed to diversity - of backgrounds and experiences. You don’t need 100% of the preferred qualifications to add incredible value to our team. If you’re passionate about what you could accomplish here, we’d love to hear from you.
• Virtual Share Options: We offer virtual share options to all our employees
• Professional Development: Annual development budget of 3,000 € for coachings, training, books, etc.
• Health & Sport Subsidy: Company subsidised sports facilities membership
• Jobticket benefit with salary conversion
• Lunch/Dinner Allowance Vouchers: Allowance for meals on working days as digital meal vouchers
• Work Equipment: Mac Book or Windows Laptop and ergonomic workplace

Tech Lead - Special Projects
Faheem Zunjani
Hi there!
I’m Faheem, and I lead the engineering team in Entrix’s Special Projects division, where we’re building a new platform from scratch inside the Entrix ecosystem. My background spans applied AI and production systems — across e-commerce at Amazon and autonomous driving at Cruise and BMW — which taught me what it takes to build software that stays reliable when the stakes are real.
Before Entrix, I co-founded cleanbrix (now Building Enerlytics), using computer vision to improve building energy efficiency — a zero-to-one journey that shaped how I work: ship early, work with customers to learn fast, and keep a high bar in production.
Energy is transforming quickly, and we’re at the forefront of it — building products that turn flexibility into real value. We’re a small team that works hard and combines fast shipping with strong engineering fundamentals — security, observability, and end-to-end ownership — so we can build systems our customers can rely on.
If you enjoy building end-to-end and want your work to matter, I’d love to talk.
Best, Faheem If you have any questions, feel free to send us an email at [email protected]
We are looking forward to receiving your application!
