To Apply for this Job Click Here Procurement Officer for Digitisation and Standardisation of Processes and Paperwork Six / 6 months – August 2026 to December 2026, with option of a six / 6-month extension depending on Marine Institute business requirements. Reporting to: Procurement Manager. Location: Marine Institute, Rinville, Galway. (on-site) Approximate salary range for candidate: €40,000. Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week, 09:00 to 17:30 Monday to Friday with one-hour unpaid lunch break. Annual Leave – 25 days per year based on full time hours per annum exclusive of public holidays and pro-rated with time worked. Section 2: Key Duties of candidate The Procurement Scientific & Technical Officer – Digitisation and Standardisation of Processes and Paperwork will: – Develop and maintain clear, user-friendly procurement communications, guidance materials, process maps, FAQs, and training resources for publication on SharePoint. – Support the digitisation and standardisation of procurement documentation and processes, ensuring information is current, consistent, accessible, and easy to navigate. – Organise, structure, and manage procurement-related content, document libraries, and information architecture within SharePoint. – Collaborate with HR, Procurement, and key stakeholders to develop, improve, and promote procurement resources, tools, and best practice guidance. – Support process improvement initiatives by translating procurement policies and procedures into practical, user-friendly materials for managers and staff. – Monitor and maintain procurement content to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with organisational requirements and governance standards. Required Skills, Competencies and Expertise: – Relevant third-level qualification in Business, Procurement, Information Management, Communications, Digital Content Management, Public Administration, or a related discipline. – Strong written communication, stakeholder engagement, and digital content development skills, with excellent attention to detail. – Demonstrated experience developing, publishing, and maintaining content within SharePoint, including document libraries and information architecture. Experience creating user-focused communications, guidance materials, process maps, training resources, and other digital content. – Knowledge of public sector procurement processes, compliance requirements, and governance principles. – Proven experience delivering digitisation, content development, or process improvement projects within procurement, public administration, or other multidisciplinary environments. – Ability to translate policies, procedures, and technical information into clear, practical, and accessible guidance for staff and managers. – Strong organisational skills with the ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
