Sanofi Manufacturing and Supply is shaping the future of biologics manufacturing through Modulus , an ambitious program at the heart of Sanofi's strategy. The Modulus Project is creating a new generation of evolutive, multi-product manufacturing facilities that are modular, adaptable, and agile, leveraging innovative technologies to better support vaccine and Specialty Care Biologics manufacturing.
Accountabilities
Tier 3 Project Support & Coordination
• Provide project feasibility evaluation and technical front-end studies input to support decision-making process with site leadership team
• Coordinate technical inputs across multiple engineering functions (automation, electrical & instrumentation, mechanical, utilities and sustainability) for Tier 3 projects
• Serve as single point of contact for projects requiring multi-disciplinary engineering support; facilitate cross-functional engineering reviews and ensure alignment between project requirements and site capabilities. Consolidate and communicate engineering recommendations to project stakeholders and site leadership
• Lead and support project sourcing and 3rd party contractor & supplier management to support capital project delivery
• Provide support to Manufacturing, Engineering and Tier 3 Capital Projects as required
Manufacturing-Engineering Interface
• Act as technical liaison between Manufacturing (biotechnologists) and Engineering & Maintenance department for equipment and automation troubleshooting
• Provide advanced technical support to diagnose and resolve complex system issues, minimizing downtime. Decide on advanced troubleshooting methods and issue resolution strategies
• Communicate issues and resolutions to management, peers and engineering team
• Translate manufacturing operational issues into technical specifications for engineering teams
• Bridge communication gaps between process operations and engineering disciplines to ensure effective problem-solving
• Identify improvement opportunities for critical systems, advise on process improvement initiatives
• Implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency, safety, and quality
• Participate and provide technical advice in deviation and root cause investigations
Technical Excellence & Knowledge Management
• Advise on system lifecycle changes, including upgrades, decommissioning, and revalidation requirements
• Support T1 & T2 (Global Engineering) project integration to site routine, inclusive of technical/project support post qualification and handover to site
• Capture and institutionalize equipment expertise and maintenance know-how during project handovers from Global Engineering (T1 & T2)
Education
• Degree in Engineering (Chemical / Mechanical / Pharmaceutical / Industrial & Systems)
Experience, Knowledge and Skills
• Only candidate with sound technical knowledge and hands-on equipment/process troubleshooting, and equipment commissioning experience should apply
• Only candidate with prior GxP experience should apply
• Minimum 3 years for specialist and 6 years for (senior) engineer with experience in Process Engineering, Project Management and Equipment commissioning in biopharmaceuticals or API manufacturing
• Strong knowledge in process engineering, equipment (DeltaV) automation and instrumentation
• Experience in frontend feasibility studies, project execution
• PMP certification will be an advantage
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to address technical issues.
• Strong stakeholder & people management skills; ability to efficiently work and deliver high performance in cross-functional matrix organization
