General Job Summary: Vital to the success of organization with providing the Companies patients and visitors with a premier orthopaedic experience and focusing on their individual needs. Responsible for scheduling surgeries, tests and maintaining provider’s calendar
Essential Job Functions:
• Provide excellent customer service to patients by addressing their concerns and providing necessary information per provider protocol.
• Handle all aspects of scheduling patients’ testing, surgeries (post and pre-op), and procedures including insurance pre-authorization.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, providers, co-workers and external contacts.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
• Performs other duties that may be necessary or in the best interest of the practice including assisting other members of the company.
• Obtain necessary patient information and medical records for scheduling purposes in an electronic health records and practice management system.
• Answer messages, emails, and/or voice mails in a timely manner.
• Provide guidance to patients/caregivers on completing necessary forms and information.
• Maintain/update physician(s) schedules and calendar(s).
• Compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
• Takes the initiative in performing additional tasks that may be necessary or in the best interest of the practice.
Requirements
Education/ Experience:
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical certification required with two to five years’ experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.
• CPR/AED and First Aid Certification preferred.
Other Requirements: Must be patient care oriented with a team environment focus. Schedules will change as department needs change, including overtime and weekends. Weekly travel between locations.
