Position Overview The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the Medical/Surgical unit provides direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or provider. This role is essential in supporting patient recovery, monitoring clinical conditions, and delivering compassionate, high-quality care. Position Details • Employment Type: PRN (as needed) • Department: Medical/Surgical Unit • Schedule: Flexible; shifts and days vary • Travel: None required • Supervisory Responsibilities: None • Compensation: Commensurate with experience • New Graduates: Encouraged to apply Key Responsibilities • Provide direct patient care, including administering medications and treatments within scope of practice • Monitor patient conditions and promptly report changes to the care team • Assist with procedures and support patient care activities • Educate patients and families regarding care plans and recovery • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with regulatory standards • Collaborate with Registered Nurses, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members • Ensure a safe, clean, and supportive care environment Minimum Qualifications • Licensure: Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in North Carolina • Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification – required Core Competencies • Strong communication and interpersonal skills • Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care • Ability to work effectively in a team environment • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills • Willingness to learn and grow in a clinical setting Employment Requirements • Compliance with all hospital policies, including vaccination requirements (approved exemptions considered) • Successful completion of a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening (post-offer) Benefits PRN employees are eligible for select benefits in accordance with hospital policy.
