Private Sector Housing Officer Norfolk £50 an hour 6-month contract Ready for your next challenge in Private Sector Housing? A Council in Norfolk are looking for an experienced housing professional to join their Environmental Health team and help deliver a vital frontline service, supporting residents and improving housing standards across the community. As the Interim Private Sector Housing Officer, you'll play a key role in ensuring residents have access to safe, healthy and well-managed homes. Working as part of a supportive team, you'll help deliver a responsive housing service at a busy time following the introduction of the Renters' Rights Act. Key Responsibilities: • Investigate housing complaints and carry out HHSRS inspections . • Enforce housing legislation through informal and formal action. • Inspect private rented properties for compliance with housing standards. • Advise tenants, landlords, and other stakeholders. • Prepare enforcement notices and maintain accurate case records. • Support HMO licensing and regulatory compliance. • Work with partners to improve housing conditions and protect residents. About you: The ideal candidate will bring: • Experience in Private Sector Housing , Environmental Health , and working in Local Government . • Sound knowledge of housing legislation and the HHSRS . • Practical experience in carrying out inspections for both disrepair and property licensing • Experience in report writing and enforcement of Housing Act 2004 . • Able to build effective relationships with tenants, landlords, and partners. • Well-organised, with the ability to manage a varied caseload and meet deadlines.
