Description
• Handle a high-value private client caseload with HNW and UHNW clients
• Step into a team undergoing exciting change and play a key leadership role
• Clear path to further progression in a collaborative and forward-thinking firm
If you’re a senior private client solicitor looking for more influence, autonomy, and the chance to shape the future of a growing team, this is the role for you.
You’ll join the Birmingham-based Private Wealth team at a national firm with an established reputation for excellence. This is a Principal Associate opportunity with genuine long-term potential, not just to lead, but to help innovate and grow a team in a department that values honest communication and collaboration above all else.
In your first six months, you’ll build trust with the team, handle high-quality cases confidently, and start to mentor junior lawyers. Within a year, you’ll take on more complex work, contribute to department strategy, and become a go-to right-hand for the Head of Department. By year two, you’ll be fully embedded, playing a key role in shaping the direction and culture of the team.
Who we’re looking for
• 5+ years’ PQE as a qualified solicitor
• Strong experience with HNW and UHNW clients
• Excellent technical knowledge of wills, trusts, estate and tax planning
• Confident, well-spoken, and professional communicator
• Self-aware and emotionally intelligent leader
• Experience mentoring or supervising junior team members
• Business development skills or interest in contributing to strategic growth
What you’ll be doing
• Managing your own high-value private client caseload
• Working closely with the current leadership team
• Supporting and mentoring junior team members
• Handling complex and often sensitive client matters with professionalism and care
• Contributing ideas and energy to help shape team operations and culture
Salary & Benefits
• Salary up to £70,000 depending on experience
• 33 days’ holiday, including bank holidays, with an additional holiday for birthday
• Option to purchase up to 5 extra holiday days
• Enhanced pension scheme
• Private medical and dental insurance
• Life assurance (3x salary)
• Clear internal promotion pathway with career framework and roadmap
• Access to leadership with a genuine focus on learning and development
• Hybrid working model with in-office team days
This is your opportunity to step into a tight-knit, supportive team where your voice will be heard and your leadership will make a real difference, all while working on high-quality matters for respected clients.
