Legal Assistant - Private Client | Warrington
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Legal Assistant to join a well-established and supportive Private Client team based in Warrington. This role would suit an organised and proactive individual who enjoys working in a client-focused environment and is looking to develop their career within Private Client law.
Working closely with experienced fee earners, you will play a key role in supporting a varied caseload while ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the department.
The Role
Key responsibilities include:
• Providing administrative and legal support across a range of Private Client matters, including Wills, Probate, Lasting Powers of Attorney and Estate Administration.
• Acting as a first point of contact for clients, solicitors and third parties, handling enquiries and providing regular updates on matters.
• Opening and closing files, ensuring compliance with AML procedures, SRA regulations and the firm's quality standards.
• Preparing and submitting legal documentation to the Probate Registry, HMRC and other relevant organisations.
• Assisting with the preparation of correspondence, legal documents, Estate Accounts and completion documentation.
• Managing diaries, appointments and key deadlines for fee earners.
• Registering Wills and carrying out associated searches.
• Preparing bills, processing payments and liaising with the finance team.
• Providing general administrative support, reception cover and assisting with the efficient day-to-day running of the office.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:
• Previous experience as a Legal Assistant or Legal Secretary, ideally within a Private Client department.
• A good understanding of legal office procedures and case management systems.
• Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and client care skills.
• A proactive and collaborative approach, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
