JOB DESCRIPTION
PART TIME AND FULL TIME POSITIONS
The lead teacher ensures the safety and well-being of each child by responding to their emotional, social, physical, and educational needs. The lead teacher utilizes best developmentally appropriate practice methods at all times. They are a positive role model for all care giving staff and children. Furthermore, they are customer service orientated and professional.
DUTIES
•
Engage children in activities and play that stimulates their development.
•
Assist children with activities and daily life (restroom use, diapering, hand washing)
•
Appropriately supervise children while keeping them safe at all times.
•
Approach parents daily with them about their child.
•
Establish a professional level of rapport with each family in order to provide quality
•
care and friendly service.
•
Creating and maintaining an environment that is clean, organized, clutter-free, and
•
safe for all children.
•
Supervise teacher assistants in the classroom and ensure they are following program
•
policy and customer service expectations.
•
Train any teacher assistants in the classroom and direct them as to what duties need
•
to be carried out throughout the day.
•
Plan daily activities that are developmentally appropriate for young children.
•
Conduct child assessments and facilitate parent-teacher conferences.
•
Attend and engage in occasional parent participation events and other events that
•
may be on nights and/or weekend-ends.
•
Prepare monthly parent newsletters and weekly lesson plans.
•
Be responsible for daily recording of activities pertaining to eating, sleeping, and
•
diaper changing.
•
Maintain a professional self image and project the value of the organization at all
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
•
Have a high school diploma or equivalent education
•
Have completed or able to enroll in the required ECE courses to be a qualified teacher.
•
Be CPR, First Aid, Health/Safety, and Blood Borne Pathogen certified.
•
Complete a TB test and physical.
•
Be mentally and physically capable of caring for a group of children alone in one
• Possess a strong work ethic, be punctual, and have minimal absences.
•
Have an awareness of the unique needs of young children and have appropriate expectations of their abilities.
•
Willing to fulfill the responsibilities in accordance with the Church’s educational philosophy
•
Demonstrate the fruit of the Spirit as evidence of a growing Christ-centered life (Galatians 5:16-25, Ephesians 5:18-21)
•
Be teachable and faithful in learning from and following those in authority over him/her and fully supporting the vision of Crossline Church.
•

SPECIAL SKILLS NEEDED

LINES OF SUPERVISION
•
Lead teachers report directly to the director/assistant director with questions or concerns regarding the children or center policy.
