Interim Head of Engineering (Data & Software)
Midlands (hybrid) | Initial 3-month contract (inside IR35)

An opportunity for an experienced senior engineering leader to oversee delivery across data and software teams within a complex, evolving environment. This role is focused on leadership, driving standards, and improving delivery, with potential to develop into a longer-term position.
Responsibilities:
Lead c.30 engineers across multiple squads
Drive delivery, standards and best practice
Provide leadership across distributed teams
Align engineering output with business objectives
Support and challenge team leads and managers
Required skillset:
Proven Head of Data or Engineering / senior leadership experience
Strong background in data-led environments
Experience managing large, distributed teams
Ability to drive engineering standards and challenge effectively
Exposure to .Net environments
Knowledge of SQL-based systems, Databricks and Azure
Experience delivering in cloud environments
