This position offers a unique opportunity to develop and apply cutting-edge spatial sequencing technologies to investigate the molecular changes associated with Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases. The Opportunity In this role, you will spearhead the development, optimization, and validation of innovative molecular technologies aimed at sequencing the spatially resolved transcriptome of human brain samples. Employing techniques ranging from millimeter-scale imaging down to subcellular resolution, you will create comprehensive maps of gene expression within affected brain regions. Collaborating closely with experts in machine learning and imaging, you will contribute to AI-driven approaches designed to understand disease progression and identify novel therapeutic targets. Qualifications • Educational Background : Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Neuroscience, or a related field with a significant focus on molecular biology, single-cell, or spatial transcriptomics. • Research Experience : Proven track record of internationally competitive research, demonstrated by publications in high-quality peer-reviewed journals. • Technical Expertise : Documented experience in single-cell or spatial sequencing is highly meritorious. • Eligibility Requirements : •Ph.D. obtained within the last three years. •Must not have held positions at Lund University within the last two years. • Collaborative Skills : Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team. • Innovation and Initiative : Interest in developing and applying new methodologies in neuroscience research.
