Description
Classification: Geometry
Charles University in Prague opens a postdoctoral position within the PRIMUS research project “Valuations in convex geometry: Between kinematic formulas and geometric inequalities” led by Jan Kotrbatý.
The candidate will join a young research team that works actively in a modern area of geometry, benefiting from a well-established international cooperation network. He or she is expected to work collaboratively on problems of algebraic theory of valuations on convex bodies, including (but not limited to) valuations and kinematic formulas on quaternionic spaces, algebraic approach to geometric inequalities, and generalizations of these topics to curved spaces. No teaching duties are associated with the position.
The expected starting date is March 1, 2024 and can be negotiated. The duration of the position is up to two years. The gross monthly salary is 55 000 CZK. The candidate must hold a doctoral degree by the time of appointment.
Applications should be sent as a single PDF file to [email protected]. The application file must contain the applicant's CV, publication list, a research statement, and the contact details for two academic referees (one of them should be the doctoral advisor). Letters of recommendation may be asked upon request. The application deadline is January 21, 2024.
Informal inquiries about the position are welcome and are to be sent to the afore-mentioned email address.
