Role Overview This position ensures the seamless operation of postgraduate academic programmes, from student admission through to graduation. Day-to-day, the Postgraduate Coordinator serves as the primary point of contact for postgraduate students and academic staff, guiding programme adherence and supporting research milestones. The role is essential for maintaining institutional academic standards and fostering a productive research environment within the university. Key Responsibilities • Oversee the entire postgraduate student lifecycle, including admissions, registration, orientation, and ongoing progression tracking. • Provide one-on-one academic guidance to postgraduate students on programme requirements, university regulations, and research pathways. • Coordinate the matching and approval of supervisors for postgraduate research, then monitor supervisory progress and student milestones. • Ensure all research proposals, theses, and dissertations meet institutional guidelines and quality benchmarks before submission. • Organise and manage proposal defences, progress seminars, viva voce examinations, and final thesis evaluations. • Liaise with internal and external examiners to schedule reviews and ensure timely feedback on postgraduate research submissions. • Track student progress and enforce deadlines for progress reports, dissertations, and thesis submissions. • Support curriculum development and revision for postgraduate programmes, working alongside academic faculty to align content with standards. • Compile and present detailed reports on enrolment numbers, progression rates, completion statistics, and graduation data to relevant committees. • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records for all postgraduate students, research activities, examinations, and graduations. • Collaborate with the School of Graduate Studies, academic departments, supervisors, and external partners to resolve postgraduate-related matters. • Enforce compliance with institutional policies, quality assurance frameworks, and postgraduate regulations across all activities. • Promote a culture of research excellence by supporting initiatives that enhance teaching quality, supervision practices, and research output. Requirements & Qualifications • Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Information Technology or a closely related discipline from an accredited university. • Minimum of three years of professional experience in a comparable postgraduate coordination role, specifically within a private university setting. • Demonstrated potential for leadership, including the ability to guide teams and manage complex academic processes. • Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision while also collaborating effectively with diverse colleagues across the university.
