Dogsledding Kennel Manager job announcement We're on the hunt for passionate and outgoing Dogsledding Pool Leader to lead our dogyard and give guests an unforgettable self drive dogsledding experience. If you love animals, meeting new people, and working outdoors, this is your chance to turn Arctic days into something truly spectacular. Key Responsibilities: Oversee a pool of 30-40 dogs in the dog yard of Malangen Resort, which involves: Monitoring dogs training, health and behavior through reports. Ensuring welfare standards are followed and that dogs receive appropriate exercise and social interaction. Evaluate dogs' capacities and skills to adapt the train according to the position: lead, swing, team or wheel. Organizing dogs for tours and training teams. Ensuring dog rotations to avoid overworking animals. Both Pool Leaders in Malangen Resort must cooperate in order to have a successful tour ensuring the dogs and guests mushing experience. Overseeing feeding, cleaning and maintenance of the dog yard. Organize the feeding and watering for the dogs according to the training and nutritional plans. Monitoring that the animal stress levels during tourist interactions through daily checks and reports and ensure safe interactions for both guests and animals. Supervising the handlers and mushers during their work time in the dog yard and the tours. Assigning daily tasks and assisting upper management with the coordination of the workload in the dog yard. Overseeing the inventory; guiding and sledding gear needs to be properly maintained and storage. Ensuring kennel standards and operating procedures are followed to secure a safe interaction between guests and dogs. Monitoring the kennels infrastructure and security to prevent incidents. Skills and Qualifications: · Working experience as a guide or related positions. · Experience with dogsledding either as a musher, minimum 1 years / seasons · Very good communication and interpersonal skills. · Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus, but not required.
