Salary: £37,374 – £44,163 per annum The BFI is seeking a Policy Analyst (Nations and Regions) to maintain and build strong relationships between the BFI and local policymakers across the regions of England and support on those across the wider UK, working with them to place film and the moving image at the heart of regional strategies. Key responsibilities • To liaise with industry and other stakeholders in local screen clusters to gain a thorough understanding of the local screen sectors and their needs. • To work with colleagues to ensure BFI’s UK-wide strategy and funding decisions are informed by a thorough understanding of local screen sector provision, both cultural and industrial. • To support the ‘levelling up’ agenda and the rebalancing of the screen sectors outside of London and the South East. Experience and skills • Working experience of the UK screen industries and of devolved, regional and local government. • An expert understanding of how local screen provision works, both culturally and industrially, as well as the public sector bodies involved with the screen sectors. • An understanding of current public policy objectives and an ability to apply them to film and the wider screen industries. We are looking for this role to be based outside of London. This role could be based either from a remote location, at our Manchester office, or potentially within one of our funded partner organisations across the UK.
