We celebrate diverse perspectives and foster an environment where you can thrive, innovate, and make a meaningful impact on patients’ lives.   Job Summary   The Per Diem Pharmacist is responsible for prescription verification (PV1 and PV2), oversight of non-sterile compounded medications, and ensuring safe and compliant dispensing practices.   This role is not focused on hands-on compounding, but rather on validating lab-prepared compounds, supporting pharmacy technicians, and maintaining operational accuracy and workflow efficiency.   This is a flexible, execution-driven opportunity ideal for a pharmacist seeking supplemental hours while remaining engaged in a fast-paced pharmacy environment. The Per Diem Pharmacist will provide coverage across day and evening operations as needed.     Key Responsibilities   Perform PV1 and PV2 prescription verification with a high degree of accuracy   Conduct final verification prior to fulfillment and shipment   Review non-sterile compounded preparations for accuracy, labeling, and documentation   Validate formulations prepared by the lab to ensure compliance with internal standards   Ensure compliance with USP <795> and USP <800> guidelines   Verify prescription details including dosing, calculations, and ingredient accuracy   Support and oversee pharmacy technicians throughout workflow   Maintain efficient processing in a high-volume environment   Identify and resolve verification or processing issues   Ensure proper handling and documentation of controlled substances   Maintain an organized, inspection-ready pharmacy environment   Communicate updates and outstanding items for operational continuity   Required Qualifications   PharmD or BS in Pharmacy from an accredited institution   Active New York Pharmacist license in good standing   Strong attention to detail and accuracy   Ability to manage high-volume prescription workflows   Ability to work independently and make sound decisions   Strong communication and teamwork skills   Preferred Qualifications   Experience in a compounding pharmacy environment   Familiarity with USP <795> and USP <800>   Experience with prescription verification workflows (PV1 / PV2)   Experience in high-volume pharmacy operations   Salary   $55.00 to $65.00 per hour   Job Type   Per Diem   Schedule   Flexible scheduling available.   Coverage may be needed during day shifts (8:00 AM to 4:00 PM) and/or evening shifts (4:00 PM to 12:00 AM).   Full shifts are available; however, partial shift availability will also be considered.
