About This Opportunity
You’re not just managing files; you’re rebuilding lives. This is your chance to step into a role where your legal expertise directly translates into justice and significant recoveries for clients who need a powerful advocate. A well-established and respected plaintiff’s firm in Westbury, NY, is seeking a dedicated Personal Injury Attorney to take on complex personal injury and medical malpractice cases. If you are driven by both the intellectual challenge of high-stakes litigation and the human impact of this practice, we should talk.
Your Mission: Champion the Injured
You will own a caseload from the initial, often emotional, client consultation all the way through to trial and resolution. This isn't a passive role—you will be the strategic leader for your clients. You’ll dive deep into case details, craft compelling legal arguments, and be the unwavering voice for your clients in negotiations and in the courtroom. Your work ensures that individuals and families receive the compassionate representation and robust advocacy they deserve during some of the most difficult times of their lives.
A Day in Your Role:
• You will manage all phases of litigation for personal injury and medical malpractice cases, developing the strategy and driving each case forward.
• Conduct legal research, and draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and other critical documents that form the backbone of your arguments.
• Take and defend depositions, including challenging expert witnesses, to build an unshakable record.
• Regularly appear in court for conferences, hearings, and trials, representing your clients with authority and skill.
• Evaluate case merits and negotiate settlements, knowing when to push for a fair resolution and when to take a fight to trial.
• Supervise and collaborate with a supportive team of paralegals and legal assistants to ensure seamless case progression.
• Maintain clear, consistent communication with your clients, guiding them through the process with transparency and empathy.
You Bring the Expertise, We Provide the Platform
To thrive here, you need:
• A Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active admission to the New York State Bar.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience litigating plaintiff-side personal injury and/or medical malpractice cases. Trial experience is a significant advantage.
• Exceptional legal writing, research, and analytical skills—your work product is precise and persuasive.
• The strong negotiation and advocacy skills necessary to secure optimal outcomes.
• The capacity to manage a demanding caseload in a fast-paced environment without sacrificing the meticulous attention to detail each case demands.
• A genuinely compassionate, client-focused approach paired with the interpersonal skills to build trust and rapport.
Compensation & Benefits: Rewarding Your Impact
Your skill and dedication are valued here. This role offers a competitive base salary ranging from $140,000 to $175,000, with a clear path to total compensation exceeding $275,000+ through performance-based incentives tied to case origination and settlements.
