Salary: £12.71 per hour Work Hours: 4 hours per week during school holidays (additional hours may become available) Contract Type: Part-time Holiday Entitlement: 5.6 weeks or equivalent Benefits: Employers Pension Scheme We are looking for a kind, patient, and reliable Personal Assistant to support an 8-year-old boy with autism and severe learning disabilities in Cleator Moor. Advertised on behalf of a family: We are looking for a kind, patient, and reliable Personal Assistant to support an 8-year-old boy with autism and severe learning disabilities in Cleator Moor. The child communicates using Proloquo2Go, objects of reference, and pointing. The ideal candidate will be understanding, supportive, and able to provide a safe and engaging environment while encouraging communication, independence, and enjoyment through activities. Key Responsibilities: • Providing personal care support • Offering behavioural support in a calm and positive manner • Supporting communication needs as the child uses non-verbal communication methods • Encouraging participation in enjoyable activities such as: • Music (listening and playing instruments) • Visiting parks and the beach • Trips to bouncy castles • Completing jigsaws • Reading • Scooter rides Working Hours • 4 hours per week during school holidays • Additional hours may become available • Cleator Moor Requirements • Previous experience supporting children or individuals with additional needs is essential • Enhanced DBS check required (funded by the employer) • Full driving licence preferred • Due to the child’s needs, dogs cannot be present during support sessions.
