Description
The patient care technician is responsible for providing basic care and support to patients including triage, guiding their experience at the clinic and assisting nurses. Main Duties and Responsibilities: • Greet the patient and perform triage • Provide compassionate care by listening to patients’ concerns and answering any questions or concerns • Ensure patient is tracked and escorted throughout the clinic • Perform procedures and treatments such as EKGs, preps, application and monitoring of patient’s response to restraints • Check blood pressure, heart rate and pulse on a regular basis • Collecting liquid samples, conduct tests and record results • Perform basic medical procedures under the supervision of registered nurses or other healthcare providers. • Monitor patient condition and provide updates to care team • Maintain the safety of patients who have been identified at risk for preventable injury • Ensure patient treatment room is cleaned and sanitized, adhering to infection control protocols and promoting fall prevention measures. • Report all patient activity to the registered nurse in a timely manner • Accurately and timely document patient observations, interventions, and relevant information in the electronic medical records system. Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations • Performs receptionist duties in a courteous and cooperative manner • Assists with maintaining inventory and par levels • Performs any other related duties as assigned Skills and Qualifications • Graduate of Certified Nurse Assistant or EMT Program, or former experience in the capacity of a nurse assistant, orderly, EMT, or adequate clinical experience as a student nurse. • Patient Care Technician experience preferred • Clerical experience preferred • Certified in CPR • Compassionate and sensitive to patients' needs and concerns • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Ability to work independently and under pressure in a dynamic environment About the Company The vision of Oaktree Medical Center is to become a world-renowned medical facility known for high quality, holistic care, focused on family values in a safe, caring, customer service driven environment.
