PART-TIME JOB DESCRIPTION: MINISTER OF WORSHIP
The Worship Minister will be asked to provide leadership in music and worship. While we see this position leaning primarily toward worship, we want to leave room for the staff member to bring and use their gifts and talents at Cooper River Baptist as the Holy Spirit directs.
WORSHIP:
• Oversee all aspects of the Cooper River Baptist music ministry; providing leadership, vision, and passion for Christ in music and genuine worship.
• Proficient instrumentalist; able to lead with piano, keyboard, or guitar, etc.
• Collaborate with the Pastor to prepare worship services, including song selection, structure, tech needs, etc.
• Lead Praise team rehearsals and Sunday worship
• Work with the audio/visual team to coordinate services and update systems as needed.
• Recruit, train, resource, schedule, and affirm ministry volunteers.
• Ensure all volunteers have complete Child Sexual Abuse Prevention Training.
OTHER:
• Participate in weekly staff meetings.
• Limited Office Hours
• Staff Prayer – Sundays 9:00 AM
• Willing to participate in the life of the church
PERSONAL LIFE EXPECTATIONS:
• Agree with and support the doctrinal statement and direction of Cooper River Baptist Church.
• Prefer a minimum of a two-year degree in Ministry, Music, or related field.
• Some experience in ministry and leading worship
• Personal spiritual development including quiet time, prayer, and self-evaluation
• Stand firm on God’s Word while ministering with grace.
• Live a lifestyle characterized by the pursuit of holiness.
• Has a passion for Gospel proclamation
• Self-starter-energetic, organized, and willing to do what it takes to get the job done
• Team player- work well with the pastors and ministry teams.
