Description HOURS 12:00 - 5:45 PM Monday-Friday POSITION SUMMARY This is a vital role in our organization, the Classroom Closer will assist Lead Teachers for their first part of their shift and then they run their own activities for about 45 minutes while welcoming parents at pick up and answering classroom specific questions. Between 12:00 - 4:45 pm , you can expect to assist in activities planned by the Lead Teacher and run some "behind the scenes" activities that help the classroom run smoothly while the Lead Teacher plans, prepares, and executes lesson. Some important behind the scenes activities include preparing PM snack, cleaning up after PM snack and activities, and diaper changing or assisting in the bathroom. From 4:45 - 5:30 pm, you will be responsible for running activities, engaging with the students, welcoming parents. From 5:30 - 5:45 pm , you will clean the classroom to get it ready for the next school day. These tasks include but are not limited to, sweeping, stacking chairs, taking out trash, putting away toys, and sanitizing toys and high touch surfaces. EXPECTATIONS • Be ready to PLAY with the kids – You need to be attentive and engaged in the classroom, gym, and on the playground. On the playground and in the gym, you need to be up moving around, playing games, etc. not sitting. In the classroom engage with the kids while keeping an eye on the entire classroom. • Be dependable – Show up on time daily. • Be quick and efficient during task – Don’t let your phone or conversations distract you. • Be confident when speaking to parents – YOU are responsible for their most prized possession, make them feel confident in you! • Be professional – Appear well-groomed, have excellent communication, be respectful, honest, formal, and focused.
