Our client a growing London based Financial Services sector business is seeking a part-time Finance Director
Job Type: Part-Time 3 days per week intially then 2 days longer term.
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Part-Time Financial Director (FD) to join their dynamic
Financial Services business based in London. As the FD, you will play a critical role in managing the financial aspects of our company and ensuring its long-term financial stability and growth.
This position offers flexibility and the opportunity to contribute your expertise on a part-time basis.
• Financial Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement financial strategies and plans in line with the company's objectives and long-term goals.
• Financial Reporting and Analysis: Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, statements, and forecasts. Provide insightful analysis and recommendations to senior management based on financial data.
• Budgeting and Cost Control: Lead the budgeting process, ensuring effective cost management, and identify areas for potential cost savings and efficiency improvements.
• Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure adequate liquidity for daily operations and support growth initiatives.
• Risk Management: Identify and assess financial risks, develop risk mitigation strategies, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and policies.
• Financial Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and other legal requirements. Liaise with auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies as necessary.
• Financial Operations: Oversee financial operations, including billing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger. Implement and maintain robust financial controls.
• Financial Decision Support: Provide financial analysis and guidance for business decisions, investments, and strategic initiatives.
• Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including senior management and department heads, to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
• Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the finance team, providing guidance, training, and professional development opportunities.
• Proven experience as a Financial Director, Finance Manager, or similar role in the Financial Services sector.
• In-depth knowledge of financial principles, accounting practices, and financial regulations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and make strategic recommendations.
• Excellent understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
• Proficiency in financial management software and advanced knowledge of spreadsheet applications.
• Familiarity with UK accounting standards (e.g., IFRS) and tax regulations.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong leadership abilities, with experience in managing and developing finance teams.
• Professional qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA are highly desirable.
• Flexibility and availability to work part-time hours as agreed.
