Description
MPI are seeking an experienced Part 145 Production Planning Engineer to join a busy aviation maintenance environment at Stansted Airport.
This role is key to ensuring the successful planning and delivery of aircraft maintenance and modification inputs, supporting the full lifecycle of maintenance projects from initial scope through to return to service.
You’ll be responsible for producing accurate work packages, coordinating resources, and ensuring all tooling, spares, manpower, and third-party services are in place to protect the critical path. Acting as a central point of coordination, you’ll work closely with customers, engineering, commercial, logistics, and certifying staff to keep aircraft maintenance inputs on track and fully compliant.
This is a fast-paced, detail-driven role where strong planning, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing complex Part 145 maintenance and modification projects
Producing detailed and accurate work packages to customer requirements
Coordinating Part-21 Design Organisations and third-party vendors
Leading pre-input planning and review meetings with stakeholders and customers
Monitoring critical path activities and resolving scheduling risks
Providing daily updates to customers during maintenance inputs
Supporting return-to-service documentation and processes
Driving continuous improvement across planning activities
What we’re looking for:
Strong experience in Part 145 maintenance, repair & overhaul environments
Background in aviation maintenance, operations, CAMO or manufacturing (min. 5 years)
Project management experience in an engineering setting
Confident use of MS Office (Excel, Word, MS Project)
Experience with Wings ERP or similar systems
Strong communication, organisation, and prioritisation skills
Ability to work under pressure in a time-critical environment
