Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour Job description: About Us: Wood & Long, LLC is a dedicated family law firm committed to providing compassionate, high-quality legal services to our clients. We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Paralegal / Legal Assistant to join our team and help ensure our clients receive the best support possible. Position Overview: The Paralegal / Legal Assistant will provide essential support to attorneys, assisting with case management, document preparation, and client communications. This role requires a self-starter with strong organizational skills, excellent written and verbal communication, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently. Primary Responsibilities: • Manage case files and maintain organized records • Draft legal documents and manage discovery processes • Request and organize records from third parties • E-file and file documents with the court • Attend court hearings and/or depositions as needed • Monitor email and fax communications • Draft and send correspondence • Reconcile client and case contact information • Assist other staff with overflow tasks • Perform other duties as assigned Preferred Qualifications: • Associate’s degree or higher strongly preferred Minimum of 2 years of administrative experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services firm • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook • Demonstrates integrity and maintains confidentiality in all office operations and client interactions • Self-motivated, able to work independently, and take initiative • Team-oriented with the ability to take on tasks beyond core responsibilities to support continuous operations What We Offer: • Supportive, professional work environment • Opportunities for professional growth • Chance to be part of a team committed to excellence in family law Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm Benefits: • Free parking • Health insurance • Paid time off Work Location: In person
