Are you passionate about the outdoors and looking for a hands-on, people-focused role in a growing adventure business? We are a dynamic and ambitious outdoor activity centre delivering premium experiences in 4x4 off-road driving, quad biking, clay shooting, and archery and axe throwing. With continued growth we’re looking for an energetic, safety-focused Instructor to join our close-knit team. You’ll play a key role in delivering unforgettable experiences to individuals, families, and corporate guests, all set in our stunning 50-acre site in the heart of North Yorkshire. Role Overview You will deliver a range of outdoor activity sessions one-to-one or in groups, guiding guests safely across driving, shooting, biking, archery and axe throwing experiences. You'll be the face of Yorkshire Outdoors—ensuring every guest has a memorable, enjoyable, and safe experience. Key Responsibilities: ● Provide one-on-one or small group instruction across our core activities: ○ 4×4 off‑road driving in Land Rover Defenders ○ Quad bike trekking ○ Axe Throwing ○ Archery ○ Clay Pigeon Shooting ● Brief clients, demonstrate techniques, maintain safety protocols, and adapt instruction to participant ability ● Set up, inspect, and maintain equipment, vehicles, and activity areas daily ● Assist with general operations: welcoming guests, coordinating bookings, supporting refreshment service from the clubhouse (rolls, pastries, BBQ orders) ● Ensure exceptional customer service, encouraging repeat bookings and positive reviews ● Uphold all health and safety standards, including equipment checks and incident reporting Qualifications & Experience ● Full UK driving licence; experience with off‑road vehicles is a plus ● First aid certifi cation (or willingness to obtain) is required ● Strong communication skills with flexibility and a confident, professional approach ● Training will be provided leading to professional qualifications Personal Profile ● Passionate about outdoor adventure and delivering high-quality experiences ● Energetic, adaptable, and comfortable working in all weather conditions ● Enjoy working with people of all ages—from families to corporate teams ● Organized, safety-focused, and excellent at problem solving with a “can-do” attitude How to Apply Interested candidates should send a CV and short cover letter to [email protected], highlighting relevant experience and why you’d make an excellent instructor Job Title: Outdoor Activity Instructor – Yorkshire Outdoor Adventures Location: Yorkshire Outdoors, Felixkirk, Thirsk, YO7 2DP Part-time: Reporting to the Activity Centre Manager, must be available on weekends Salary: Competitive, based on experience
