You Are: Oracle Cloud General Ledger Functional Lead
The Work
As the Oracle Cloud General Ledger Functional Lead , you will serve as the chief architect and strategic owner of the Record‑to‑Report (R2R) process. You will design the financial core of the enterprise—from the Chart of Accounts (COA) and Subledger Accounting (SLA) rules to consolidated financial reporting. In this senior leadership role, you will guide accounting executives, lead a team of consultants, and ensure the functional integrity, auditability, and compliance of the General Ledger. You will also own solution governance, testing strategy, and the end‑to‑end delivery of GL and subledger functionality across Oracle Cloud Financials.
Key Responsibilities
Own and architect the complete R2R solution, including COA structure, SLA rules, close process design, and financial reporting strategy
Lead, mentor, and govern the work of functional consultants; establish GL and subledger best practices and quality standards
Facilitate strategic design sessions with senior accounting leaders (Controller, CFO) and advise on complex COA, reporting, and close‑process decisions
Partner with the Project Manager to own the R2R functional workstream, deliverables, and issue resolution
Serve as the top escalation point for all GL and subledger functional challenges across AP, AR, FA, PPM, and SCM modules
Define the testing strategy for the full R2R process; oversee SIT, UAT, and reconciliation validation
Ensure functional integrity, auditability, compliance, and alignment with enterprise accounting and regulatory standards
Maintain deep expertise in the Oracle ERP Cloud Financials ecosystem, including key integrations and reporting tools
Provide leadership, guidance, and communication across cross‑functional teams and senior stakeholders
Here’s What You Need:
Minimum 8+ years of hands-on experience in Oracle General Ledger (Cloud or EBS)
Proven experience leading the GL/R2R workstream on multiple (3+) full-cycle Oracle Cloud Financials implementations
Deep expertise in the end-to-end Record-to-Report (R2R) business process and advanced accounting principles
Expert-level, hands-on configuration experience with the Chart of Accounts, Subledger Accounting (SLA), and financial reporting tools (FRS, OTBI)
Expert-level architectural understanding of how all major subledgers (AP, AR, FA, PPM, SCM) post to the General Ledger
Demonstrated experience leading and mentoring teams of functional consultants
Exceptional leadership, workshop facilitation, and communication skills, with a proven ability to advise and influence senior-level stakeholders
Minimum 6+ years Oracle ERP Cloud General Ledger solution experience with 1-2 full cycle implementation experience.
Strong knowledge of federal and commercial ERP / Financial business processes.
Additional working knowledge of other ERP Cloud modules that integrate with General Ledger module.
Willingness to upskill and certify in Oracle ERP Cloud modules
