Description
Founded in 2017, refurbed is Europe’s fastest-growing marketplace for refurbished products, active in 23 European countries and having surpassed €2Bn in GMV — all while being profitable. With beautiful headquarters in Vienna, we operate as a remote-first company and have been recognised as a Top DACH Employer by Kununu for three consecutive years. Our mission is to make sustainable consumption the easy choice by enabling customers to buy products up to 40% cheaper while significantly reducing CO₂ emissions. If you thrive in an environment that values momentum, ownership, and impact, you’ll feel at home here. We’re a fast-paced, high-performance team that works hard and challenges itself everyday. To enable this high-performance every team member enjoys full autonomy over their location (we’re remote-first). Join our Direct team , the part of refurbed that builds commercial products and services beyond the core marketplace. We are hiring two Operations Associates to help run and scale these products: the analytics behind them, the operations that keep them steady, and the automation that makes them scale. You will own reporting and analysis, run operational processes, automate the manual work, and drive cross-functional projects. Depending on your background, you will focus either on our service products (insurance, repair, trade-in) or our direct-to-consumer products (in-house retail, accessories, software). We work that out together during the process. This is a high-exposure role for someone early in their career, with real ownership from the start. WHO YOU ARE: Recent graduate or early-career professional with up to 3 years of experience in operations, analytics, or commercial roles within startups, scaleups, marketplaces, fintech, ecommerce, insurance, or similar fast-paced environments. Hypothesis-first thinker  who writes clearly and communicates directly, including across functions and with senior stakeholders. Comfortable operating in ambiguity, managing uncertainty, and balancing multiple priorities without becoming overwhelmed. You've shipped at least one automation  (Notion, Zapier, Make, Airtable, or scripts) and can describe what it replaced AI fluent:  you use Claude or ChatGPT in your daily work and know how to iterate and when not to trust the output Fluent in English:  other European languages are a plus You care about sustainability  and want your work to matter Quantitatively confident:  spreadsheets, modelling, and turning vague problems into concrete analysis; SQL, Python, or no-code tools are a plus Location & eligibility:  This role is open to candidates based in Europe (including UK) only with a valid right to work. WHAT YOU'LL DO: Own performance and reporting: run regular KPI reporting and one-off analyses so the team knows what is driving performance and what to do about it. Keep improving the quality of the reporting and the tooling behind it. Run operations and own processes: run the operational checks that keep performance steady and customers happy. Find the gaps, fix the root cause, and build the controls that catch problems early. Find manual work and automate it: simplify and automate recurring processes, reports, and alerts across areas like quality control, customer care, and pricing. We expect one shipped automation by month three. Support partner and supplier work: reviews, negotiations, and account management with the partners behind your focus area. Insurance carriers and repair networks on the service side. Suppliers and logistics partners on the accessories side. Drive projects end to end: research the opportunity, map stakeholders across business development, marketing, and product, set the plan and timeline, define what success looks like, and track it to completion. Use prioritisation frameworks such as RICE to sequence work and make trade-offs expl
