Description
WSDOT is currently seeking to fill multiple USCG Documented Marine Oilers to join licensed and unlicensed employees operating WSF’s 21-vessel fleet. On-Call Oilers are the entry-level engine-room position at WSF. Promotions to permanent assignments and licensed positions (such as assistant engineer or chief engineer) are based on the mariner’s seniority, appropriate credentials, and position openings.
Oilers ensure vessels operate efficiently and perform maintenance on all engine room machinery. These positions will be responsible for the monitoring, inspecting, maintenance and repair duties on a routine basis. Oilers must have knowledge of various power/hand tools and equipment as well as standard engine room equipment such as motors, pumps, gauges, indicators, compressors, main power plants, steering mechanisms, electrical systems, battery storage systems, fuel systems, sewage systems and emergency equipment operations.
Upon the closing of this posting, applicants will be invited (via email) to a live-online information session to learn more about this opportunity.
