Our Profile In 2020, G Mining Ventures (GMIN) was created to acquire direct ownership of projects and capitalize on the value uplift that successful mine development offers. In July 2024, GMIN acquired the Oko West project. The Oko West Project is a new gold discovery in northwest Guyana. It is located south of the historical “Oko” gold district, some 95 km west of Georgetown Security Officer The Security Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of all personnel, equipment, and infrastructure at the mine site. This includes monitoring access points, conducting patrols, enforcing site policies, and responding to incidents to maintain a secure working environment. Key Responsibilities • Monitor and control access to the mine site, ensuring only authorized personnel and vehicles enter. • Conduct regular foot and vehicle patrols of the site perimeter, buildings, and critical areas. • Operate security systems, including CCTV, alarms, and radio communications. • Report and document incidents such as theft, trespassing, or safety violations. • Respond to emergencies and assist with evacuations or first response situations. • Enforce company rules, safety protocols, and applicable regulations. • Support investigations by gathering evidence, statements, and maintaining logs. • Ensure compliance with visitor and contractor sign-in/out procedures. • Escort high-value assets, sensitive materials, or personnel when required. • Assist in maintaining good relationships with employees, contractors, and local communities. Qualifications/Skills and Experience • Minimum 2 years of experience in security, preferably in mining, industrial, or remote site environments. • Military, police, or security services background is advantageous. Additional • Vigilant, alert, and detail oriented. • Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills. • Ability to work independently and within a team. • Familiarity with basic report writing and incident documentation. Working Conditions • Position based at the OKO Project site. • Work Schedule – 14 days on/7 days Off • Transport, accommodations, and meals provided on site.
