Position Summary Plans, organizes, and conducts occupational therapy programs to support the development and rehabilitation of residents with a range of mental, physical, and emotional needs. This role is grounded in building genuine, trust-based relationships — we believe every person, team member and resident alike, brings unique strengths and perspectives that make our community stronger. Essential Duties • Addresses aspects of a patient's performance to support engagement in daily occupations that affect health, well-being, and quality of life. • Selects and adapts the appropriate treatment model, method, and approach for each individual, guiding the intervention process. • Applies interventions to maximize safety and performance in activities of daily living (ADL) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADL). • Teaches residents new ways of approaching tasks, helping break activities down into achievable, confidence-building components. • Takes time to understand each patient's goals, home life, and personal preferences to create a treatment approach that truly fits them. • Assesses residents home and other environments and advises on alterations consistent with their needs and capabilities. • Recommends adaptive equipment and trains residents in its use with patience and encouragement. • Guides and educates family members and caregivers, building trusting relationships that extend support beyond the treatment session. • Observes, notes, and reports on progress toward long- and short-term treatment goals. • Collects data and documents processes followed. • Documents patient care services according to approved medical and facility documentation procedures. • Collaborates closely with fellow team members, contributing to a supportive, inclusive workplace culture where diverse backgrounds and perspectives are welcomed and celebrated.
