Description
Job Title: O&M Technician Reporting to: O&M Manager Business Unit: Ireland Omexom is a Renewable Energy Engineering Service Provider who currently delivers multiple Operations & Maintenance contracts on large scale ground mounted Solar PV facilities (approx. 59MWp in total at present), with a further portfolio currently under construction. Omexom’s vision is to become the No.1 O&M Service provider in the utility scale solar industry in the RoI. We will do this by ensuring that we maintain very high standards of professionalism and quality of service and establishing long term partnerships with likeminded organizations. Role purpose The O&M Technician will become part of Omexom Ireland’s Operation & Maintenance Department and will help with the efficient and productive operation & maintenance of a renewable O&M portfolio which is currently expanding. Based in the South/Southwest of Ireland, the O&M Technician will be expected to attend a number of sites across the south of the country for both planned and reactive maintenance. Responsibilities & Duties Responsibilities & Duties will include but are not limited to: Reactive On-call duties Carry out planned maintenance routines. Site Inspections & Assessments / End of Warranty Inspections, Site Reports. Co-ordinate O&M activities, resources, materials and equipment when needed. Coordination & Management of Sub-contractors; Handheld & Drone IR (Thermography), Vegetation Maintenance, Module Cleaning etc. Assist with managing compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental procedures. Represent Omexom professionally with various internal and external stakeholders. System & Component Failure Investigations / Root Cause Analysis. Input into site Improvement & optimization plans. Travel as required to support business requirements. Key interfaces Relationships with key stakeholders: O&M Manager O&M Engineer Project Teams & Colleagues Sub-contractors Person Specification Qualifications and experience The jobholder shall be a motivated self-starter, possessing: Good technical knowledge of commercial solar PV systems and the industry would be an advantage. A sound working knowledge of electrical infrastructure, Safety Rules, Safety Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013 (ROI). A positive attitude to learning from others and an ability to take guidance. A desire to develop your career and advance within the business. Exceptional customer focus. A willingness to assimilate to our Values and be trusted. Desirable skills and competencies: Formal Electrical qualifications (QQI Level 6, C&G Inspection & testing etc.) Familiarization with Solar Module testing techniques (Electroluminescence, Flash Testing, IVCurve testing, UV & IR Inspections) is an advantage but can be learned. Ability to organise and prioritize their own time and schedule. Good working knowledge of computers and relevant computer packages including Microsoft office products. Full RoI Driving License. Sound working knowledge of broader electrical networks including distribution systems and associated plant and equipment. A passion for renewable energy and a desire to develop new services in the market utilizing new innovative technology. Understanding of basic civil works would also be an advantage.
