• NYSDOT Interstate 81 Local Hire Initiative Interstate 81 Local Hire Program Interested in participating in the NYSDOT Local Hire Program for the Interstate 81 viaduct construction project? The I-81 Local Hire Initiative will need laborers, carpenters, iron workers, equipment operators, truck drivers, etc., and NYSDOT is working with several workforce partners to provide training through apprenticeships and on-the-job training programs. No prior highway construction work experience is required to be eligible for being selected for our training programs or employment opportunities. This is a public works / prevailing wage rate project. Eligibility Requirements: • Must be a resident within the following zip codes: 13202, 13203, 13204, 13205, 13207, 13208, 13210, 13224, 13290, residents of the Onondaga Nation territory, and locations within zip codes 13206 and 13214 that are also within the City of Syracuse. • High School Diploma or Equivalent • OSHA 10 Card • Proof of ability to work in the United States
