Overview: Westchester Jewish Community Services (WJCS) is an award-winning, nonprofit, nonsectarian human services organization founded in 1943. Today, WJCS is the largest provider of licensed outpatient community behavioral health services and one of the largest human service agencies in Westchester County. Through innovative programs, compassionate care, and a commitment to excellence, we serve more than 20,000 individuals of all ages and backgrounds each year. We are currently seeking a Nursing Assistant to join our Community Programs team in Mamaroneck. In this role, you will be responsible for working with the team to maintain the medical and clinical status of the individuals served. The hours are Monday through Friday 6:30am –2:30pm, and the compensation range is $20.72-$22.22/hour. Responsibilities: As a valued member of our team, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: • Schedule medical and clinical appointments and accompany individuals to these appointments. • Assist other staff in performing the duties of the Direct Support Professionals. • Provide assistance, services and supports that promote independence and active participation in daily living within the residence and community. • Provide Person Centered Supports as out lined in the NYS DSP Code of Ethics. • Assist individuals to achieve their individual habilitation goals and objectives. • Regularly review medication records for completeness and accuracy and report any irregularities. • Order medication, medical equipment, and medical supplies from the pharmacy and ensure that all medications, equipment and supplies are stored and secured according to Agency Policy and Regulation. • Schedule medical/clinical appointments and lab work, including all necessary follow-ups and puts prescribed medications on MAR. • Complete forms necessary for examinations and evaluations. • Maintain medical records. • Drive individuals in agency vehicles and/or accompany them to medical/clinical appointments or to other activities and programs. Requirements: We are seeking candidates who possess the following qualifications: • High School diploma or GED • Must possess an AMAP Certificate • 6-12 months experience working with persons with developmental disabilities in a DSP role • Valid driver’s license for over two years is a must • Participate in, pass and maintain certification of WJCS required training that includes but may not be limited to Medication Administration, SCIP, CPR/First Aid, Driving the Van and Mandatory Training as identified by OPWDD • Able to conduct physical activity including but not limited to lifting, moving, pulling, pushing, flexing, and bending • Able to participate in, pass and maintain certification of Community Programs of WJCS required training that include but may not be limited to Medication Administration, SCIP, CPR/First Aid, Driving the Van and Mandatory Training as identified by OPWDD. • Honest, reliable, dependable and professional at all times What WJCS has to offer you: In addition to meaningful work and a supportive team environment, we offer a competitive benefits package, including: • Generous paid time off • Comprehensive Health Benefits, Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and a Healthcare Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA) • 403(b) Plan and an Agency-Paid Pension Plan • Ongoing Professional Development and Training • Employee Assistance Program • Tuition, day-care, and personal emergency reimbursements • Disability and life insurance • Staff appreciation events and employee mental health and wellness initiatives WJCS INC.
