Description
Grow with us At Planters, we do things a little differently. Nestled in the High Weald National Landscape, our independently-owned nursery is dedicated to growing unique plant varieties you won't commonly find in other garden centres — raised in-house, so our customers can see exactly how our plants perform before they take them home. We're looking for a passionate Nursery Production Manager to lead the daily running of our plant production and help us keep growing — sustainably, thoughtfully, and with real care. What you'll be doing • Leading plant production — overseeing propagation, growing, irrigation and fertilisation across a wide range of species and cultivars. • Championing quality — monitoring plant health and growth, and spotting and tackling disease, pests or nutrient deficiencies early. • Managing stock and supply — monitoring plant stock levels, working with our buyer and retail team, and planning production schedules to meet demand. • Caring for our facilities — making sure nursery equipment and infrastructure stay in good shape. • Driving innovation — trialling new varieties, cultivation techniques and sustainable technologies to keep our offering fresh and responsible. • Sharing your expertise — working with our retail team to advise customers on beautiful, well-matched plant combinations. What we're looking for • Prior experience managing a nursery or in plant propagation is essential. • Strong horticultural knowledge and a genuine love of plants. • A commitment to sustainable growing practices. • An eye for quality, efficiency and detail. • A collaborative spirit — you'll be working closely with a friendly, hands-on team. Why Planters? You'll join a close-knit business with deep roots in the local community, where trust, care and sustainability aren't just words on a wall — they shape everything we grow and sell. This is a chance to put your own stamp on a nursery that prides itself on doing things properly.
