Unit School Of Medicine MBU Department Neurology Department Summary The mission of the Department of Neurology is to provide state of the art comprehensive patient centered neurological care for adults, perform translational and clinical research to further understanding of disease mechanisms and develop new treatments, and train the next generation of neurologists and clinical neuroscientists. Department faculty have a responsibility to provide service to their profession and the community. Duties & Responsibilities • Teaching – Faculty member will teach medical students and housestaff, participate in a series of formal conferences for housestaff and students, attend weekly Grand Rounds, and lecture as requested. • Research – The Division of General and Headache Neurology is engaged in clinical and translational research projects. Faculty member will participate in, and when appropriate, lead clinical research and clinical trials. • Service – Faculty member will serve on departmental, School of Medicine, and/or University committees as necessary, and in professional capacities such as reviewer or conference organizer. • Clinical – Primary clinical responsibilities include care of patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Qualifications • MD/DO or MD/PhD degree (or equivalent) • BC/BE in Neurology • Successful completion of a neurology residency at an accredited institution • Additional requirement as per the ACGME Common Core Requirements • Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism, and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU Salary Range : Commensurate FLSA Exemption Status : Exempt ORP Eligible : No Rank : Open Tenure : Ineligible Months : 12 months Contact Information Contact Name : Eric Hunsley Contact Email : #J-18808-Ljbffr
