We're looking for a Transport Operator to join our Control Tower team, supporting the movement of road freight between Europe and the UK for a major automotive customer. This is a pivotal operational role where you'll act as a central point of control, monitoring shipments, coordinating with carriers and customs teams, and ensuring deliveries are completed safely, compliantly, and On Time In Full (OTIF). How you create impact • Monitor and coordinate road freight shipments from Europe into the UK. • Track vehicle and shipment movements using transport management systems. • Proactively identify and resolve potential service disruptions and delays. • Coordinate import and export movements across UK and EU borders. • Work closely with carriers, drivers, transport planners, and customs teams. • Escalate critical operational issues and support recovery plans when required. • Maintain accurate, real-time transport status updates and records. • Help deliver excellent customer service and OTIF performance against agreed service levels. What we would like you to bring • Experience within road transport, logistics, supply chain, or freight forwarding. • Understanding of European and UK transport networks and geography. • Basic customs knowledge or willingness to develop this area. • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills. • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. • Ability to think quickly and respond effectively to changing situations. • Good IT literacy and confidence using operational systems. • Customer-focused mindset with a collaborative approach to teamwork.
