Job Title: Music/Art Teacher
Job Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and creative Music/Art Teacher to inspire and engage students in the exploration of music, visual arts, and creative expression. The ideal candidate will design and deliver engaging lessons, foster a supportive classroom environment, and encourage students to develop their artistic skills, creativity, and appreciation for the arts.
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons in music, art, and creative expression aligned with curriculum standards.
• Teach students a variety of techniques in music (instrumental, vocal, theory) and art (drawing, painting, sculpture, digital media).
• Organize and lead performances, art exhibitions, and other student showcases.
• Incorporate technology and innovative teaching methods to enhance student learning.
• Provide constructive feedback to students and assess progress regularly.
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that fosters respect and creativity.
• Maintain classroom materials, instruments, and art supplies.
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to integrate arts into cross-curricular activities.
• Stay current with developments in music and art education through professional development.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Music, Art Education, Fine Arts, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Teaching certification or licensure (as required by state/district).
• Experience teaching music and/or art to various age groups.
• Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
• Ability to inspire, motivate, and connect with students from diverse backgrounds.
Work Environment:
• Classroom and performance/exhibit spaces.
• May require evening or weekend hours for performances, exhibitions, or school events.
