Music and Movement Teacher Music and Movement Teacher Location: Balsall Heath Duration: Full-Time, Ongoing Salary: £140 – £170 per day (depending on experience) The School/Role We are recruiting for a passionate Music and Movement Teacher to join a welcoming SEN school in Balsall Heath. This role is essential in helping pupils express themselves through rhythm, song, and movement, promoting both learning and emotional development. You will plan and deliver tailored lessons that inspire creativity, encourage participation, and foster confidence in every child. Key Duties • Creative Teaching: Deliver fun, interactive lessons in music and movement that meet the needs of pupils with SEN. • Engagement: Encourage participation, creativity, and self-expression through rhythm, singing, dance, and movement activities. • Differentiation: Adapt sessions to meet a wide range of learning and physical needs. • Collaboration: Work with teachers and support staff to integrate music and movement into the wider curriculum. • Progress & Wellbeing: Support pupils’ personal development, communication, and social interaction through creative learning. Requirements • Teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent) OR proven experience delivering music/movement sessions in schools • Strong knowledge of music, dance, or performing arts • Ability to inspire and engage pupils with creative teaching methods • Patience, adaptability, and commitment to inclusive education • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children Desirable • Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to apply) • Experience working in an SEN or mainstream school environment • Training in music therapy, performing arts, or movement support (advantageous) • Valid photo ID (Driving Licence or Passport) • Recent work-based references Interested?
