Responsibilities Possess solid knowledge of data engineering practices, demonstrating a passion for quality and best practice. Adopt a continuous learning mindset, proactively seeking out and working on your areas of self development (technical & non technical). Support the adoption of modern cloud-based data platforms (with a clear path into Databricks - including support for certification) Be trusted to own and deliver stories and deliverables end-to-end, delivering quality production-ready outputs. Write well-tested, automated code — building unit tests and automation flows as standard practice, not an afterthought. Understand how project stories and deliverables fit into the broader project context, pre-empting different types of issues and scenarios that may be encountered. Work closely with SMEs, testers and end users, keeping communication proactive and surfacing blockers early. Contribute actively in team discussions - bringing ideas and building a reputation for quality work as a trusted, collaborative team mate. Qualifications Strong SQL skills (data modeling, query optimisation, stored procedures). Design, develop and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for batch and streaming data. Experience with at least one programming language: Python, Java, or Scala (Python preferred) and experience with Oracle Solid understanding of Data warehouse concepts (star schema, slowly changing dimensions) Knowledge of version control (Github) Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) or platforms like Snowflake, Databricks.
