About This Role We're seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Lead Montessori Teacher for the Toddler classroom (ages 1-3) at Wheatley Montessori School, where we foster independence, creativity and a lifelong love of learning in every child. What You'll Do General Responsibilities • Observe children carefully and maintain records on their individual progress • Support the lead teacher in establishing and maintaining a harmonious and respectful classroom atmosphere • Help nurture and sustain the Montessori culture with attention to the emotional and educational needs of each student • Actively participate in all school events, parent-teacher conferences and community engagements • Attend weekly staff meetings to collaborate and align on classroom goals • Provide gentle and consistent guidance throughout the day Responsibilities to the Lead Teacher • Meet regularly with the lead teacher to discuss class dynamics and student progress • Follow through with daily duties as delegated by the lead teacher • Stay informed on school policies; including student behavior, health concerns and/or materials maintenance • Assist with guiding students in the use and understanding of Montessori materials Responsibilities to the Classroom • Contribute to keeping the classroom clean, orderly and fully prepared for learning • Ensure the environment remains tidy and inviting throughout the day Requirements • Physically capable to work with pre-school and Kindergarten aged children • A clear record through fingerprinting • Patience, flexibility and genuine love for working with young children • Team player with a collaborative mindset • Committed to complete professional development credentials • Strong observational and communication skills • Experience working in a Montessori environment (preferred but not required) Benefits • Supportive, mission-driven team environment • Competitive compensation • Opportunities for professional growth • Beautiful, purposefully designed Montessori classrooms About Wheatley Montessori School At Wheatley Montessori School, we are committed to nurturing confident, curious and compassionate learners through authentic Montessori education.
