Description
Description As a Mobile Commercial Diesel Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines (Cat/Cummins/Detroit), systems, and components for a wide range of commercial vehicles. You will be working in the field, directly with customers, providing on-site repairs and maintenance. This is a critical role for ensuring vehicle uptime and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities: • Diagnose and repair diesel engines and systems, including electrical and mechanical components, for commercial trucks and vehicles. • Perform preventative maintenance and inspections on diesel engines and related equipment. • Use diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot engine and system issues. • Complete field service repairs and maintain service records in a timely and accurate manner. • Provide excellent customer service, clearly communicating with customers about the status of their vehicles and the repairs needed. • Adhere to company safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment, both in the service truck and at customer sites. • Collaborate with the dealership service team to ensure efficient scheduling and resolution of customer issues. • Travel to customer locations within the region to perform on-site repairs. Requirements • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in diesel technology or related field preferred. • Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a diesel technician, with a focus on commercial vehicles. • Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems, electrical, hydraulic, and air systems. • Proficient in using diagnostic tools and software (e.g., Freightliner DiagnosticLink, Cummins Insite, etc.). • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (CDL preferred but not required). • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. • Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently in a mobile service environment. • Strong communication and customer service skills.
