Description
I am working with a top-tier international law firm with a US and global platform, seeking to hire a mid-senior Real Estate Finance Associate (5+ PQE) into its expanding London team.
The firm is recognised for advising on complex, high-value transactions for leading financial institutions, private equity sponsors, investment funds and multinational corporates. Its London office plays a central role in the firm’s global finance practice, working closely with colleagues across the US, Europe and Asia on cross-border matters.
This is an opportunity to join a highly regarded real estate finance practice that is closely aligned with the firm’s broader finance, private equity and real estate teams.
The Role:
You will take on a key role in advising on a broad spectrum of real estate finance matters, with a particular emphasis on sponsor-driven transactions and complex financing structures, including:
• Lead responsibility on acquisition financings for high-value real estate investments
• Acting for lenders, private equity sponsors and debt funds on structured real estate deals
• Advising on multi-layered capital stacks, including senior, mezzanine and preferred equity arrangements
• Development finance and large-scale project financings across asset classes
• Portfolio-level financings and platform investments
• Restructuring and workout scenarios involving real estate-backed debt
• Coordinating cross-border transactions and managing input from multiple jurisdictions
You will play a visible role on transactions, with the opportunity to manage workstreams, interface directly with clients, and contribute to the execution of technically demanding deals.
The Firm:
The firm operates a highly integrated global finance practice, with London acting as a key hub for European transactions and a primary interface with US-based sponsor clients. The real estate finance group is embedded within the firm's broader transactional body, working alongside market-leading private equity, real estate and leveraged finance teams.
The London office gives associates early ownership of matters and they are expected to operate with a high degree of autonomy. Teams are typically lean, creating a fast-paced environment where contributions are visible.
There is a strong emphasis on technical excellence and commercial delivery, and the teams are encouraged to develop deep client relationships and sector expertise. Cross-border collaboration is also a core feature of the practice, and there is frequent interaction across offices on both deal execution and client development initiatives.
What’s on Offer:
• Top-of-market compensation reflective of elite US firm standards
• Discretionary bonus structure tied to individual and firm performance
• Consistent exposure to complex, sponsor-led transactions and premium assets
• A high-performance environment with genuine responsibility from day one
• Opportunity to work closely with leading partners in the real estate finance space
• Long-term career development within a globally integrated platform
Candidate Requirements:
• 5+ years’ PQE with a strong focus on real estate finance
• Background at a leading City, US or international firm
• Proven experience handling sophisticated real estate finance transactions
• Confidence in managing deal processes and interacting directly with clients
• Strong commercial judgement and attention to detail
• A proactive and driven approach, suited to a high-expectation environment
