Description
AO Racing has quickly risen to one of the benchmark teams in Professional Sportscar Racing with a commitment to on-track excellence and fan engagement. AO Racing commands attention with its fun liveries and fan-friendly presence. The iconic liveries of “Rexy” and “Roxy” the T-Rex Porsche 911 GT3 Rawrs and “Spike” the LMP2 Dragon have captivated fans worldwide earning AO Racing a dedicated following. We are currently competing in both the IMSA WeatherTech & European LeMans Championships. As we continue to build our programs for the future, we are looking for the right people to grow with us.
What You’ll Do:
• Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to fabricate custom metal components for race cars and equipment.
• Perform TIG and MIG welding, cutting, grinding, bending, and shaping across a variety of metals.
• Collaborate with engineers and mechanics to identify opportunities for performance‑enhancing custom components.
• Conduct quality checks to ensure all fabricated parts meet AO Racing’s performance and safety standards.
• Maintain fabrication tools, equipment, and materials; recommend upgrades or new technology when beneficial.
• Stay current on fabrication techniques and motorsport‑grade materials to support continuous improvement.
• Represent AO Racing with professionalism and pride in all shop and trackside interactions.
What you’ll need:
• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training in metal fabrication preferred.
• 3+ years of fabrication experience, ideally in motorsport, automotive, aerospace, or other high‑performance environments.
• Strong proficiency in welding, cutting, grinding, bending, and metal shaping.
• Experience working with Inconel, magnesium, and titanium is highly valued.
• Familiarity with fabrication machinery including mills, lathes, saws, and grinders.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing precise, high‑quality work.
• Clear understanding of PPE requirements and safe operation of all fabrication equipment.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams.
• Ability to stay calm, focused, and solutions‑oriented in a fast‑paced environment.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record preferred.
• Desire to learn and excel in the racing industry.
