Description
Rendeavour Group is seeking a dynamic MEP CAD/BIM Technician to join our engineering department. This role requires a seasoned technical expert capable of leading the MEP modeling and coordination for complex high-rise and large-scale buildings. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between engineering design and construction documentation, ensuring that Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems are modeled accurately, fully coordinated, and clash-free. Drafting, Modeling & Technical Delivery: Lead the production of fully coordinated MEP drawings and BIM models for HVAC, Electrical (Power/Lighting/Low Current), Plumbing, Drainage, and Fire Fighting systems. Prepare detailed schematics, riser diagrams, plant room layouts, and typical installation details for high-rise and industrial projects. Ensure all MEP services are modeled to the required Level of Detail (LOD) and adhere to company CAD/BIM standards. Convert engineering design mark-ups into accurate construction documentation and shop drawings. Maintain updated libraries of MEP families and blocks to ensure modeling efficiency and accuracy. Coordination & Clash Detection: Utilize Navisworks to execute rigorous clash detection between MEP services and Structural/Architectural elements; manage the resolution of clashes with the engineering team. Coordinate service routes to optimize ceiling voids and vertical shafts, ensuring constructability and maintenance access. Collaborate with the structural and civil teams to ensure penetrations, sleeves, and openings are accurately located in the structural model. Site Support & Quality Control: Review contractor shop drawings and material submittals against the design model to ensure compliance. Assist in the production of Combined Services Drawings (CSD) and Builders Work in Connection (BWIC) drawings. Conduct site inspections to verify that MEP installations match the coordinated BIM models and "As-Built" documentation whenever requested. Requirements Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or a Diploma from a specialized technical institute is required. Experience : A minimum of seven to ten (7-10) years of progressive experience in MEP drafting and coordination for residential, industrial, and high-rise buildings. BIM Experience: Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in MEP BIM modeling. Software Proficiency : Expert-level proficiency is mandatory in AutoCAD, Revit (MEP), and Navisworks. Awareness of calculation software (e.g., HAP, Dialux, Elite Fire) is an advantage. Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of MEP systems coordination, plant room spatial requirements, and building services codes.
