Employment Type: Full time Shift: Rotating Shift Description: Job Title: Medical Technologist/Medical Lab Technician Employment Type: Full-time Shift: Rotating Shift - weekends and holidays required Location: St. Mary Medical Center - Langhorne, PA Position Purpose The candidate must have experience with identification of bacteria and fungus and other microorganisms that cause diseases and in addition be able to work independently. Adheres to CAP and infection control standards. Maintains specimen integrity and following proper biosafety practices. As a MLT/MT you will: • Utilizes quality control for decision making on a routine basis to establish standards • Communicates critical values in accordance with departmental policy • Recognizes abnormal results and takes appropriate action in accordance with departmental policy • Accurately performs STAT and routine orders within established time limits • Adequately collects and/or processes specimens • Safely performs all routine maintenance procedures • Performs and evaluates instrument functions • Recognizes malfunctions and implements corrective actions • Consistently completes documentation of maintenance procedures and/or instrument malfunctions notifies appropriate personnel • Communicates instrumentation status to appropriate personnel including oncoming shift by utilizing Departmental Communication book • Monitors inventory levels and follows appropriate protocol for re-ordering supplies • Reviews appropriate specimen logs to confirm completion of work and resolve outstanding tests • Demonstrates adequate knowledge of appropriate computer functions • Assists Central Processing by receiving specimens, responding to Pneumatic tube and answering telephones • Adapts work schedule to meet emergency staffing needs • Performs other related duties as required Minimum Qualifications: • Technical School/2 Years College / Associate’s Degree for Medical Lab Technician • AS (MLT) with ASCP eligible or equivalent • Bachelor's Degree for Medical Lab Technologist Position Highlights and Benefits: • Comprehensive benefit packages, including medical, dental, vision, mental health, paid time off, 403B, education assistance and voluntary benefits (pet insurance, accident insurance, hospital indemnity and others) available from the first day of employment. • Work/Life balance with flexible schedules. • Free onsite parking. • Our mission and core values are what drive each member of Trinity Health to support each other, communicate openly and respectfully while embracing a culture that nurtures a healing, safe environment for all. • Referral Rewards Program About us: St. Mary Medical Center  is a beautiful 53-acre state-of-the-art facility comprised of more than 700 physicians, nearly 3,000 colleagues, and 1,100 volunteers committed to providing quality care delivered with compassion and respect.  St. Mary attracts top doctors, introduces cutting-edge technologies and implements advanced procedures to meet the healthcare needs of the people it serves, including the nearly 630,000 residents of Bucks County.
